Heavy rains and floods are commonplace in Pakistan and in India in the months of July and August. This year has been no exception; for the time being, levels of 2010 have not been reached yet, nevertheless, there have been 36 dead people and 250.000 displaced persons.

In the valley of Hushe, we have regretted the death of two men of 22 and 65 years when they were gathering wood for heating their households in winter.

We are enclosing a small report carried out by Basharat Alí, an ex-school principal in Munawar and currently a volunteer worker in the Félix Inurrategi Foundation, Baltistan Machulu, together with a photographic report of the floods in the valley.

The report: Floods in Hushe river
